A client in Aix-en-Provence wanted to reorganise the space in his apartment with an opening in a partition. The team at OUVERTURE MURS PORTEURS TREMIES supported him through these changes, including the steel structure reinforcement, which we carried out.
For this project, the BET specified a layout that we followed precisely.
Our work began with the installation of planks and steel props fixed around the load-bearing walls, in the basement and ground floor, to prevent any risk of collapse.
The opening in a load-bearing wall was then enlarged using an electric chainsaw and a special machine.
To strengthen the new opening, two HEA120 columns were set and fixed on footings with lag screws and to the wall with SPIT TRIGA M12 chemical anchors. We also installed an HEA220 beam, 4.16 m long (215 kg), welded and bolted at each end to the columns with 15 mm base plates.
To finish the job, we applied anti-rust paint to all the steel elements and gave the premises a general clean-up.
