OMPT GROUPE recently completed a job creating a door opening in a load-bearing concrete block wall in Pégomas.
The work was carried out following to the letter the drawings prepared by our structural engineering office, guaranteeing the strength and safety of the whole.
Our teams first installed complete propping to support the structure before any work on the load-bearing wall.
After the opening was carefully cut, an HEB180 steel lintel was installed, sealed into the load-bearing walls at each end.
To give reliable, lasting support, this lintel rests on reinforced concrete padstones specially sized to take the loads.
This reinforcement made it possible to create a passage between two spaces while keeping the structural integrity of the building.
