Today our company OUVERTURE MURS PORTEURS TREMIES offers you many solutions for a more comfortable living space. We specialise in modifying load-bearing structures to reorganise your home.
Not long ago we carried out work for one of our clients who wanted an opening in one of the walls of his house in Villefranche-sur-Mer. His aim was to fit a door creating a new passage between the house and the garage. The client asked for a structural engineering office (BET) to be involved, which prescribed a method for carrying out the project, and we followed it precisely.
We began work by protecting the premises throughout. Then we installed propping to temporarily support the ceiling. Next we demolished part of the reinforced concrete wall to form the opening for the future door. We set an HEB160 lintel, sealed into the wall at each end with non-shrink mortar. We then wedged and packed the space above the lintel with non-shrink mortar. The beam was coated with anti-rust paint to protect the metal better over time. To finish, we carried out a general clean so everything was left in perfect condition.
