As part of its regular work, the OMPT GROUPE team successfully completed a job in Villeneuve-Loubet creating an opening for a door in a load-bearing wall.
Every intervention on a load-bearing wall starts with a thorough analysis. The structural engineer studied the loads carried by the wall and proposed a suitable solution: a steel frame reinforced with angle sections and flat bars.
Before work began, all surrounding surfaces, notably the marble floors in the building's common areas, were protected with special covers.
To keep the building stable during the work, steel props were installed on each side of the wall. This temporary system spreads the loads evenly and prevents any sagging.
The opening was cut with an electric saw fitted with diamond blades, following the dimensions set out in the technical drawings.
Once the opening was complete, the steel frame was installed. This custom-made frame consists of welded steel angle sections and flat bars for maximum strength.
To extend the life of the steel reinforcements, anti-rust paint was applied to the whole structure. Finally, the site was cleaned, ready for the door installation and interior finishing work.
