OMPT GROUPE recently created a stairwell opening in a reinforced concrete floor, followed by structural reinforcement with carbon fibre plates.
Details of the work:
- Creating the opening:
A precise 170×160 cm cut was made in a 21 cm thick solid slab floor with a diamond circular saw. The rubble was removed immediately to keep the site clean. - Reinforcement with carbon fibre plates:
To make up for the loss of strength, carbon fibre plates were installed over 6.30 linear metres, bonded to the floor with S&P Resin 220HP adhesive, as specified by the structural engineering office (BET). - Finishing:
The site was cleaned after the work to ensure a clean, safe environment.
This work effectively strengthened the structure while creating the opening needed for the staircase, safeguarding the building's longevity.
