OMPT GROUPE recently created an opening in a load-bearing stone wall in Biot, which required careful structural reinforcement to guarantee the stability and durability of the structure.
- Site preparation :
- Careful protection of the premises to keep disruption for the client to a minimum.
- Installation of a temporary propping system in the form of a shoring frame, allowing the loads of the load-bearing wall to be transferred during the work.
- Vertical reinforcement :
- Fabrication and installation of two reinforced concrete columns, cast in place with steel reinforcement. These columns provide an effective path for the vertical loads. Their size and position were carefully calculated to ensure perfect structural integration.
- Horizontal reinforcement :
- Installation of a double steel lintel made of two HEB200 beams. Assembled with threaded rods passing right through, these beams form a robust, durable frame for the new opening.
- Protection and durability :
- Application of anti-rust paint to all steel elements to prevent corrosion and extend their service life.
- Completing the job :
- Removal of the temporary props once the lintel was in place and the loads properly redistributed.
- Meticulous cleaning of the work area and removal of the initial protection, leaving a clean, safe space ready to use.
This project shows our expertise in structural reinforcement and our ability to work on sensitive structures while guaranteeing both safety and quality.
