Creating an opening in a load-bearing wall. Steel structure reinforcement in Saint Maur Des Fosses

A client in Saint Maur Des Fosses came to us to carry out his project. His goal was to create an opening between the kitchen and the living room. The opening had to be made in a load-bearing wall, which is one of our specialities. As the apartment is in a co-owned building, the involvement of the engineering office was required, and it gave us a work drawing that we followed precisely.

Our work began with general protection of the premises. Next, to secure the ceiling during demolition, we installed timber props and planks. The opening was then demolished. The HEA 120 beam was laid in the second-to-last step and sealed into the wall at each end. Finally, in the last step, the whole steel structure was coated with anti-rust paint.

This project created a free passage between the kitchen and the living room.
