Creating openings in a reinforced concrete load-bearing wall in Vallauris

OMPT GROUPE worked in Vallauris to create 2 openings in a 20 cm reinforced concrete load-bearing wall cast in shuttering, creating a practical connection between rooms while keeping the wall's structural role.

Before any cutting, full propping was installed to take the loads of the floor above and make the work safe. The openings were then made by diamond saw cutting, guaranteeing precise execution without vibration or damage to the existing structure.

The stability of the wall was maintained by installing steel lintels in HEA 160, sealed onto side bearings with a suitable structural mortar, ensuring an even, lasting transfer of loads. Once the sealing had fully hardened, the propping was removed and the finishing work was carried out.

This project improved the visual and practical flow between the spaces while preserving the structural safety of the building. It illustrates OMPT GROUPE's expertise in creating pass-through openings and openings in load-bearing walls, as well as in installing steel reinforcement in line with the engineering studies.
