Demolition of a load-bearing wall in Colombes. IPN beam reinforcement

A client with an apartment in Colombes decided to demolish a load-bearing wall. Naturally, he turned to our company OUVERTURE MURS PORTEURS TREMIES for careful workmanship. From the start, a structural engineer visits to confirm the project is feasible.
A precise method was then defined for the demolition steps, and also for the steel reinforcement to be used. On this project, we used the strengthening technique for our client. On the façade wall, we used an IPE200 section beam placed directly into the wall. On the other side of the load-bearing wall to be taken down, we welded a base plate at the UPE100 column.
We used steel splice plates to assemble the beam directly on site after first cutting it in two. During this operation, our technicians used bolts and base plates to make the assembly solid. Since these structures remain sensitive to moisture and the effects of time, we applied anti-rust paint to protect the steel. When the work is finished, we always end with a thorough clear-out of the site, removing all dust and debris and rubble.
