A client in Mougins recently called on our expertise for an ambitious remodelling project in his detached house. He wanted to rethink the space by taking down two load-bearing walls to create a more open and welcoming atmosphere.
To guarantee the safety and strength of the structures during the demolition work, we set up a system of vertical props and planks for a balanced distribution of loads.
Once the walls were down, we built solid reinforced concrete padstones. This included installing an HEB340 beam supported by two HEA180 counter-columns, as well as an IPE220 beam placed perpendicularly, resting on a reinforced concrete pillar at one end and connected to the HEB340 beam at the other.
We then protected the steel structure with high-quality anti-rust paint to ensure its longevity.
