Enlarging an existing opening in a load-bearing facade wall in Grasse. Steel structure reinforcement

As part of a reconstruction project in Grasse for one of our clients, we successfully enlarged an opening in a stone facade wall. The crucial first step was to meticulously prop the facade and the roof to guarantee the stability of the site. We then carefully enlarged the existing opening, preserving the integrity of the wall.

Creating reinforced concrete bearings was a critical phase to support the additional weight resulting from the enlargement. Two HEA 100 steel beams were then installed to reinforce the structure, wedged with non-shrink mortar to ensure a solid and lasting connection.

After the propping was dismantled, we thoroughly cleaned the site to remove the debris.

This project, carried out with precision and constant attention to safety, resulted in a significant improvement to the structure while preserving its original look.
