OMPT GROUPE worked in Vallauris on a project to underpin the foundations of a detached house, which showed structural weaknesses requiring targeted and secure work.
The foundation reinforcement was carried out in phases, in accordance with the recommendations of a structural engineering office, to guarantee the stability of the house throughout the project.
The work consisted of:
- manual excavation about 0.80 m deep and 1.20 m wide,
- placing mass concrete at 350 kg/m³, poured in successive phases of about 1 linear metre,
- constant monitoring of stability thanks to propping installed at each stage.
This traditional underpinning method makes it possible to strengthen the foundations durably without weakening the existing structure.
The final backfilling, carried out in successive layers, ensures gradual, controlled settlement of the ground, guaranteeing the durability of the structure.
