Project background:
As part of an interior remodelling project, our client wanted to open up a load-bearing wall to enlarge the living space. The work called for secure structural reinforcement, carried out in compliance with the applicable DTU standards.
Solution implemented:
• Opening of the existing load-bearing wall after a feasibility study.
• Installation of two cast-in-place reinforced concrete columns to transfer the vertical loads.
• Installation of a steel HEB220 beam, positioned horizontally above the opening to redistribute the loads.
• Work carried out with temporary propping, followed by sealing of the load-bearing elements in line with good building practice.
Result:
A strong, durable structure, ready for the finishing trades, with the safety and stability of the building guaranteed. All done within a short time, with a high level of cleanliness and site protection.
