Opening a bay in a reinforced concrete load-bearing wall. Reinforcement with a steel structure in Avignon.

We worked in Avignon to create an opening in a load-bearing wall and strengthen it.

The client engaged a structural engineering office (BET), and we followed its recommendations step by step.

To avoid damaging the premises, protection was put in place.

In addition, two rows of vertical shoring were installed to prevent any collapse of the ceiling and load-bearing walls.

An opening was made with an electric wall chaser and a circular saw with diamond blades.

We installed a reinforced concrete lintel, sealed into the wall at each end with 4HA12 bars.  The gap was packed with resin concrete.

At the end of the work, we cleaned up and handed the premises back to the owner.
