Opening a door bay in a load-bearing wall. Reinforcement with a steel structure in Montrouge.

Our next job was at the home of a client in Montrouge. He wanted to make a doorway in a load-bearing wall, then reinforce it with a steel structure. To do this, we followed the method and recommendations provided by a BET.

To hand the premises back in perfect condition after our work, we protected the floors, the stairs and the entrance landing.

Using timber props and planks, vertical shoring was set up to support the weight of the ceiling and the load-bearing wall.

The opening was then made in a brick cross wall. To receive the HEA140 lintel, a non-shrink mortar padstone was built.

Anti-rust paint was applied to protect the steel surface.

Finally, we cleaned the site thoroughly to return a room in perfect condition to our client.
