We recently answered the request of a client who had a problem with the upper floor sagging in his apartment in Grasse. This problem is quite common, especially in older buildings with traditional floors made of timber joists. Damaged joists are a significant structural risk and therefore call for specialists.
The project in question was carried out under the supervision of a structural engineering office.
After the false ceiling was taken down, we found the floor in a deteriorated state and reported it to the engineer straight away. After carrying out the necessary calculations, the engineer proposed a solution consisting of dismantling and rebuilding the floor in its entirety.
Our team carried out the work step by step, within the 15-day deadline and in accordance with all the rules of good practice.
The new floor is made up of 5 IPE200 sections supporting steel decking, on which a 5 cm thick RC slab is cast.
