As part of an interior refurbishment of a detached house in Fréjus, OMPT GROUPE stepped in to strengthen the existing roof structure and adapt its load-bearing capacity to the building's new configuration.
The work involved building a made-to-measure steel structure directly into the timber roof framing, to take up and redistribute the roof loads.
The works required steel connections at the ridge, with splice plates created to join several converging beams. The whole assembly was fitted and adjusted on site to guarantee perfect continuity of forces between the different load-bearing members.
This work permanently strengthened the stability of the roof structure while preserving the existing framework and the interior volumes of the home.
