At the request of a client in Cagnes-sur-Mer, our team of technical specialists worked in the apartment to remove a chimney and install the reinforcement.

An execution study had previously been carried out by a BET, so we followed the engineers' methodology step by step.

First, we carefully demolished the 181x260x30 cm chimney using an electric wall chaser and a circular saw with diamond blades. After building and placing the reinforced concrete padstones, we installed the steel brackets.

The first HEA160 bracket, 1.96 m long, was sealed into the existing wall at one end and rests at the other end on the second HEA160 bracket (strut), 0.41 m long, and is connected to a third, perpendicular HEA160 bracket, 0.41 m long, with steel angle brackets. The second and third brackets were also chemically anchored to the wall with base plates and rods.

To protect the steel surfaces effectively, we used an anti-rust paint. Finally, we handed over a site that was completely clean and free of all the rubble generated by the works.
