For this latest job, our team was called in to remove a pier and enlarge an opening in a load-bearing wall.
This type of alteration requires rigorous preparation and structural reinforcement in line with the recommendations of the structural engineering office (BET).
As on every project, we made the site safe before cutting the wall with a diamond saw, ensuring clean, precise work.
Key stages of the project
– Propping the ceiling to secure the area and take over the existing loads.
– Cutting and enlarging the opening with professional diamond-sawing equipment.
– Fabrication and installation of the steel reinforcement structure: IPN240 / UPN240 columns and a double HEB240 beam,
– Assembly with base plates, gusset plates, welding and bolting.
– Anti-rust paint and clean-up at the end of the work.
Result
This work now gives a wider opening, a brighter space and better flow between rooms, while complying with the technical standards for load-bearing wall openings.
As always, all our work is carried out to the highest standards and covered by our ten-year warranty.
