We were called in by the co-owners' property manager of a building in central Cannes to repair a floor between the restaurant and the first floor. The floor is a vital structural element of a building. For this reason, no repair can be carried out without a prior study by a structural and concrete engineer.
As soon as we arrived on site, we built a hoarding and protected the paving stones of the pavement with OSB panels, not forgetting the protection of the common areas. We then began by demolishing the old floor in order to replace it with a new structure.
Throughout the project we followed the recommendations of a structural engineering office precisely. The new floor consisted of a mixed steel and concrete structure, known as a composite floor. First we installed the steel joists, laid the steel decking on top and filled it with reinforced concrete.
We finished with a complete clean-up of the premises and tidying away of the materials.
