OMPT GROUPE recently worked on a structure with a badly deteriorated reinforced concrete beam, affecting the stability and durability of the structure. This repair was carried out following a rigorous technical protocol, validated by a structural engineering office.
Stages of the work
Step 1: Chipping back the reinforced concrete
Our teams carried out localised demolition of the unstable concrete in the damaged areas. This included removing concrete spalls, flakes and rust scale from the exposed reinforcement bars.
Step 2: Anti-corrosion treatment of the reinforcement
Once the steel had been cleaned, it was treated with a liquid anti-corrosion product of the RUST type (LABOFRANCE or equivalent), to stop the corrosion from progressing and extend the life of the reinforcement.
Step 3: Rebuilding the concrete cover
The cover over the steel was restored by applying a technical resin mortar of the RAGEFORCE type (LABOFRANCE or similar). This structural repair mortar, specifically formulated for aggressive environments, restores the original shape of the beam while providing excellent adhesion and high mechanical strength.
Result
Thanks to this methodical work, the structural strength of the beam has been restored, guaranteeing the safety of the structure and its compliance with current technical standards. The work was completed within the agreed time, with a constant focus on quality and durability.
