Our next job was for clients who wanted to renovate their swimming pool. They had called on OMPT. We took the time to go through the BET report carefully.
We started by protecting the area around the pool with OSB boards, setting up the site and arranging suitable material deliveries. We then demolished the pool lining down to the bare concrete and removed the rubble.
The third stage was the structural reinforced concrete work, with various structural elements built to strengthen the existing walls, plus reinforced concrete walls created by our team. These are three types of stiffeners (R1, R2 and R3), which are 250 mm x 250 mm reinforced concrete columns. Each stiffener is installed with steel stirrups and longitudinal bars, anchored into the slab with chemical resin. Three types of stiffeners were specified: R1 for vertical columns fixed to the existing walls, R2 for vertical columns at the ends, and R3 for the other vertical columns.
In addition to the stiffeners, reinforced concrete channels are also built to help drain rainwater. These channels are also reinforced with steel stirrups and longitudinal bars.
Finally, a concrete slab is cast with welded mesh to serve as the floor. The concrete used for the works is ready-mixed concrete, with 300 or 350 kg of cement per cubic metre depending on the case.
Once the excavated part was ready, the workers built the new pool walls and applied a new liquid waterproofing membrane lining. The site was thoroughly cleaned by our team and the debris was removed.
Thanks to our know-how and expertise, we completed the work on schedule, within the planned budget and with a high-quality final result.
