Repairing a cellar ceiling floor with steel structure reinforcement in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin

06190 Roquebrune-Cap-Martin

On this site in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, our company carried out the complete repair of the ceiling floor over the cellars, with reinforcement by a steel structure to make the building safe and durable.

The project concerned a basement level supporting a shop above, which called for precise structural work to take over the existing loads and improve the load-bearing capacity of the floor. Following a study by the engineering office, a solution using steel beam reinforcement was defined.

Work began by making the area safe and preparing the bearings. A steel structure made of HEA 160 beams was then installed over the full span, transferring the loads onto several steel columns. This configuration redistributes the forces efficiently and relieves the existing floor.

The steel members were positioned precisely, connected and fixed in accordance with the technical specifications, ensuring perfect stability of the whole. Particular attention was paid to the bearings and anchorages to ensure optimal transmission of the loads to the foundations.

At the client's specific request, we also clad the steel structure with a fire protection system, improving the fire resistance of the whole and meeting the building's safety requirements.

Thanks to this work, the ceiling floor over the cellars now has lasting reinforcement, allowing the spaces above to be used safely. This project illustrates our expertise in underpinning, floor strengthening and the installation of steel structures in existing buildings.
